To me, any dealer who tells you the 1904 Peso is rare, is either an ignorant humbug or a con artist. Despite the very low mintage of only 10,000, this is far and away the most common peso in gem, and indeed, THE only common peso in gem.
And I do wish this was really a rare date, because this is a beautiful, beautiful specimen and if it were rare, it would be worth a helluva lot of money. It’s beautifully struck, beautifully preserved and beautifully toned.
